Any suggestions/tricks on how its best to clean/replenish chrome - other then redoing it (no time for it)??

Phil, is the chrome dead, slightly rusted or just tired looking? If the chrome has very mild surface rust give it a light ( and I mean light so it doesn't scratch ) hit with a wet soapy steel wool pad. Preferably one that has been used a bit so it's not

Hi Phil,

You may just have years of built up road grime on the chrome bumpers. With a bit of elbow grease, I cleaned mine up a real treat with " SILVO ". Only do a small patch at a time with "Silvo" on a clean flannelette shirt, and clean off excess wi

Well my ingenious smash repairer who claimed to be a great panel beater figured my perfectly new bumpers looked nicer painted silver...so the bumpers i don't have to worry about for now. (Read this as a very pi$$ed off comment!)

You can buy different grades of steel wool at hardware stores. It comes in very coarse grades (like the kitchen/pot scourer stuff) down to VERY fine grades.

You can also try Coke (Mythbusters reckon it works a treat) or Autosol is good too.

Thanks Guys,

Best results came from an old cotton sheet and autosol. The coke worked...but didn't buff up as well. Good to hear from another mythbusters fan!

4 more sleeps and getting very nervous!! No issues with the wedding - jsut hoping the car
