OK I give up! how do you get the ****ers off?

G'day all, Tried to change my speedo today, but couldnt get the dash fascia off because of the choke cable and the bloody headlight switch, tried for hours to get the headlight one off but it seems as though it just doesnt come out, so WHATS THE DAMN SECRET!!! please before I go nuts (more than I already am anyway)by the way its an HJ premier dash if that helps. On the headlight switch there is a button to push that is on the switch inside behind the dash...need to put your hand under the dash to depress it, button is usually on left hand side of switch looking at it. Press it then the knob should pull out. Chok |

Dont forget to disconect the battery as your lights will be in the on position once you have pulled the knob out.

Thanks guys that has helped me immensely, I had never read about that little button, and my manual got wet and all the pages stuck together, when I accidentally left it out in the rain a few weeks ago. Cheers. Russ.

For the choke cable, undo the screw that holds the metal core of the cable on to the choke mechanism of the carby, leaving the plastic outer in place. Get back in the car and pull the choke cable all the way through the dash until it is completely out. Th

I actually had my HQ headlight switch out over the weekend, pulled it apart to free it up a bit (was getting a bit stiff).
Having seen how it works internally, I can add one more point to this - the release mechanism (the little button) will work bette

Hi Jason,
I'll send it and the dipper anyway...they are no good to me anymore.
I should get to post the parcel about Wed or Thu (after driving around the Pilbara for a week, then across the Kimberley and back last week. It is about 30 degrees in Per

Absolutely on paid time mate :-)) About 5,000 in the Pilbara and 4,000 in the Kimberleys...Darwin next week should be a doddle...less than 1,000 I think...
