Hi folks

I purchased a 253 recently to put back in the HQ and i cannot find an engine number anywhere on it. I looked at the two flat areas on the block but nothing. Any clues as to where they hide them? The only number I could find was, 0221 and a clock dial pointing to 6, on the casting on the front of the block.

The other question I have relates to manifold numbers. I have two manifold numbers 2823086 and 9932888. Can anyone tell me the era of these manifolds and what carby would have been on them?

Thanks

mh

If viewed from the front on the block, go the RHS, and find the flat pad nearset the first spark plug hole. Should be there !
