Gday just wonderin if you need an adapter plate to fit a Carter Quadrajet to a standard Holden 4 Barrell Manifold or if it will just bolt straight on. cheers

If its a bog standard genuine 5.0 litre manifold the Quad/Rochester should fit. There were no other standard issue 4 barrel options as far as I know.

Carter quadrajet are the same mountings as the Rochester, (Spreadbore pattern) They were original equipment to many models of Mopar and Ford engines. If you have one of these - hang on to it, as they are an extremely rare carby these days and were very ef

Hi Guys.

The name Quadrajet is owned by Rochester (GM). The name of the Carter carby you guys are talking about is the Thermoquad, & seen in Australia on XC/XD/XE Ford V8s.

but it is definatley a Carter Quad. has it written on the side made specifically for GM Usa

it came off a VK so are they standrad equiptment on them or was t fitted to that at a later date

Rochester products in America got Carter to made quadrajets under license when demand outstripped supply. The Carter quadrajets are identical in design to the equivalent Rochester, however the alloy used was generally inferior.
