Does anyone have any knowledge of the VN auto box's. I piled the family into the wagon at 5.00 christmas day to do the yearly pilgrimage down to the inlaws, and it would not change out of 1st gear.

There is plenty of oil in it. And I still have reverse.
Could anyone help please

VN T700's are still vacuum/hydraulic boxes....how is the vacuum line to the modulator?

Something is telling it to stay in first...I suspect something in your kickdown system...do they have an electric kickdown switch on the accelerator?

That's my 2

If its a V6 then there is a cable kick down running from the EFI butterfly, next to the throtle cable. maybe this has snapped or come apart from holding brackets? Check the whole cable length for damage.
