Hi all, look I have a serious problem!!!!! I have a werked straight six xf falcon and she is a wild yella terra!!!!.
The head has been maxed ported and polished blah blah and evry thing else done including a Holley single pumper.
The bottom line is OK, there is either tooooo much torque being developed which has now ripped up a few drive belts and if I am not careful will F...K the motor.
I have been advised Gilmer drive pulleys may be the answer but at a price.
Any one got an idea as it would be moocho appreciated.
Ta!

Hi.
I race speedway and a lot of the boys had problems with belts flying off at high rpm with the alloy 4.1
The problem can be the power steering pump pulley not wanting to rotate at the same rpm as the engine resulting in belts flying off/ or cooked st

Easy fix for this problem is to fit an idler pulley of a 4 cyl timing belt and mount it under belt to stop belt whipping, you just have to fabricate bracket to hold it,worked for me on speedway car doing 20-30 laps at 5500rpm never lost a belt in 4 years.
