Hi all, thanks for the info. Not sure about the deal. You know the old saying "when it sounds too good to be true, it usually is". The guy advertised the car in sydney, now tells me it's in Hobart. And keeps avoiding giving the chassis, engine and rego nu

The numbers in the first post have nothing to do with registration and ownership. A lot of owners are now reluctant to give this nfo as they fear identiy theft.
If someone is in Hobart looking after the car, person may have moved to Sydney, you should

there is a govt department in most states that can advise if a car is stolen or has any money owing. in WA it is called REVS, they need the chassis and engine numbers I think. Give the rego people in your state a ring, or if it is in Hobart and you are i

Sounds like one of those ebay scammers hard at work again, the car is never available for inspection, way to cheap for what it is and when you ask for more detail they bug out....
There are plenty of help topics in ebay on this subject if that's where |

Take this one for instance. I think that its too good to be true so I asked him why its so cheap and where i can inspect the vehicle (I hid my email from the seller). I am betting the car is overseas and the price includes shipping either that or the sell |

Also if the seller is ebay has NO history for a car sale its also a clue that it could be fake sale.

Hi xbro.
2 things aren't quite right.
Firstly, that engine number is from a VN-VS 304 EFI. That's OK it could have been fitted at any time & it's legal.
Secondly, the VIN says it was made between 1/9/75 & 31/8/76, but the chassis number (CLX....) |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

So should I even be bothering going down this path? Either the guy is ripping me off or he is genuine and thats the way hebrought it. Any thoughts?

Hi guys, I inquired about a mustang in the trading post that looked to cheap got an e-mail back stating the car was in the states and was the real deal, i then followed and recieved an Ebay payment page stating they had 30K in credit with them etc i sent

The guy has emailed again and wants the transaction to go through Escrow Australia. Anyone had any experience with them? I think I will let this car slide as this feels dodgy.
