all cars had to have side intrusion bars fitted i think from 1977 as part of new safety ADRs ...

Yes, but the question is - how can it have factory nuts in a 1974 LH L34, if they are late LX doors with intrusion bars.

Byron, why cant these be Riv-Nuts fitted to a stock late LX or UC door. I can fit Riv-Nuts at work & they look factor

just have to pull it apart and see i guess, it could just be a case of someone putting L34 doors on the back of the car, do both doors have the same casting date? what about the front doors?

it may have been in a prang, but then why would they change

All LX past a cetain date had them.
You might be right Terry. Will investigate more today.

Hi Guys.

The start date is mid-77. Any LX or HX with ADR 29 on the compliance plate should have side impact beams in the doors. Any LX with a chassis prefix of CLX or DLX should have them (BHX for HX series). This followed thru to UC & HZ series.
