More serpentine belt setup

All mounting brackets will be made from 10mm aluminium. Here is the marking out for the drivers side mount. Two of these are needed.

In order to get the serpentine belt setup to work I need to swap the waterpump to the longer Jumbo pump. Therefore I needed to make a 16mm spacer for the crank pulley to realign the two. All other pulleys will then be aligned to these.

I took the EH to the All Holden Day in Sydney. It was a great day and I picked up a trophy also.

Thanks for that, I have had the car for 23 years now and this is the first show for the car so I'm very happy to get an unexpected trophy.

He is the final prototype of the serpentine setup. Now it's just a matter of finalising everything and making it look good

Finally got around to fitting the sender unit for my Dakota Digital oil pressure gauge. It wouldn't fit on the oil pump with an off the shelf adaptor so I came up with this setup. Works well. I started the motor up and cold it has 56PSI oil pressure using a standard volume JP oil pump and Penrite HPR30..

Coming home from the All Holden day I developed a slight clicking noise in the right rear when using the brakes. Pulled a wheel off today to see one of the pad retaining bolts missing. This allowed the 2 pads on this side of the rotor to move out of place. Luckily they were stillo over the pistons so there was no chance of the pistons popping out of their bores and losing rear brakes totally.

This is a bolt I had from a spare caliper. I thought I could just screw it staright in. NO. The one missing from my caliper was smaller in diameter in the non threaded section. I had to put it in the lathe and turn it down about 1mm. It fits now.

I fitted a Billet Specialties Sirocco 15-1/2" steering wheel which I got from Summit. It looks heaps better than the all billet cheapy I had fitted. I have a genuine Momo wheel from a VL HDT also which one day I will rewrap to suit the car.

I got hold of some 3.89:1 diff gears and a LSD centre for the EH. I have a couple of AU Falcon ute housings to use to create a new rear end for the EH. I figure it is better value to get a complete new rear end made and sell off the one already in the EH

Got myself a set of ball joint type adjustable stabiliser bar links. These allow more angular offset thru the suspension travel and are adjustable for length. The look good too,

I had the engine for the tonner set up to use a VR PCM along with a 4L60E auto. Seeing this is a budget build I will use either the Trimatic or Toyota 5 speed I already have. SO the ecu will now be a good old 808. I checked under the house and found a V8 harness that will work. A also stole the knock sensor harness from a V6 harness which will be added to this V8 one.

Finally got around to making the mount for my gauges for myeh. This allows me to use the gauges when driving then remove them easily and quickly if I need to. It uses a powerful magnet of a Bosch revolving light.

The new LED headlights for my EH finally arrived. I need to do some wiring mods to make them work.

Gauge pod in position. It has a magnetic base and I was concerned about scratching the dash paint. I used tablet/Ipad screen protectors and cut them to the correct shape. Now I don't have to worry about scratches

Light installed and ready to go.

Comparison between old and new. The new LED are only rated at 23 watts. The old lights are Hella Semi Sealed beams which are generally considered as the best headlight available. These were fitted with Bosch 60/55W Xenon Blue globe so in theory I had the whitest possible light out of this setup. As you can see it is very dull and yellow compared to the new LED setup.[img][/img]

You can see on the drivers side light the pattern of the three individual lamps that make up the low beam. This is only visible when you are out of the focus of the beam. When you are in line with the beam and looking at it all you see is a brilliant white light.

Interesting. What's it like on the road from behind the wheel, and what are the high beams like?

I'll post a POV shot when I get them aligned and find a nice wall to shine them on.
They carry ECE approval so I'm sure I will be very happy with the light output.

Looking at these plug faces I can see that the throttle bodies need some more accurate balancing. Some plug faces are sooty black from over fueling(too low airflow) and some are white meaning a lean mix(too much air relative to fuel). This is not really a problem when driving as once the throttle is opened up the flow is relatively equal across all throttle bodies. This will only be a problem if I do a lot of running without getting the car up to temperature.

Front hub covers for myeh not only neaten things up they also positively locate the road wheel on the hub ensuring not load is carried by the studs

Both covers finished. They look a bit nice than the egg ring spacer that I had been using.
