Cheers rob! Just wait til im home this time... The battery wont be in the engine bay, nor will anything that doesnt need to be! Wiring is being hidden, and im going to do some more painting of parts (things i should have done with the engine out)... Ill also be taking the UC in to get a Dyno tune, so i should have a Dyno HP readout to post up too... Exciting stuff hey!

Well guys.... Its official! I have the UC back, with the 350 Holley on it still, and while its not the most horsepower, its certainly a good result in anyones speak!

The average of the three runs was 96.3rwkW (about 130HP in old speak), and the highest of the three runs was 101.2rwkW, so roughly 135HP!!

Heres the average run printout!

It unfortunately doesnt say what rpm its at, but he said he took it up to about 6500rpm, max HP was at 5800rpm, so im pleased about that! But the better news is that there is no longer a flat spot in the carby... He bored out the metering block, fitted 3 times larger jets and replaced the accelerator pump, after fiddling around and setting the timing to 9deg btdc, it was all peachy!

Gimme your thoughts guys!

The old LJs had about 190Hp so thats about almost 140kws, but that was at the flywheel and with tripples and 10. something compression.

Forgive me if im wrong but i think its pretty close to these specs.

its always good to see how much work poeple put into their cars.
Have you thought about putting more chrome in the engine bay?
just a thought not criticising your effort to detail.
cheers...

Lol, as much as i like chrome, i think ill keep with the silver look in the bay! Its just a break from the chrome!

I have spent so many man hours on my UC, lots of beer has gone down, and many late nights just admiring it!! Its sometimes too hard to walk from the garage into my bedroom... The g/f is getting a bit upset with me!

Well done paul - ive seen this before and admired your work! How did the VT buckets fit into the front, and the rears into the back (Obviously the only way they would respectively go)!!

Cheers

Ok guys, the wheels are on. Everything is happenin! And I rekon they look damn sexy too.

Wheels are 16" by 7", the tyres are 205/50/16 on the front, and 225/50/16 on the back. Tyres are Yokohama AR01.

Heres the pics i took today, enjoy!

But just to recap, lately ive got the stainless exhaust fitted, and now the wheels... WHAT COULD BE NEXT???

Cheers

Cheers lhl!!

Ive got just a quick update on the UC... The 179 is coming out very soon. Its replacement will be dispacement... I have 2 motors with my eye on them - a 308 which has a very angry cam or a crate 350chev. Both will cost the same to fit to the UC, but only 1 will make some very serious horsepower. So when ive made the decision on the motor, ill let you know!

Cheers

Keith, do you know what jet size and power valve size worked best on the Dyno for you in the 350 Holley?

as for the V8, why dont you put a chev pattern 308 Holden in(cheaper), with turbo 350 auto,($1200.?est) and when you get over that, the 350 chev crate conversion will be straight forward.

UC wit HP?, works for me! i am a subscriber!
