Since I was on here last I lost my job after more than 13 years with the same company. The owners are elderly (late 70's) and in poor health so they are in the process of winding up the business and selling off all the trucks. I had a triple bypass done in December 2015 and also have a stuffed shoulder with one severed tendon and another mostly severed. It has never stopped me from doing my job delivering poly pipe and climbing all over the truck. I am 63 and thought this job would see me through to retirement. I pass an annual medical after a stress test and pass it easily every time. I have to wait till I'm 67 before I can retire and because I got a little bit of redundancy, long service and a few weeks pay in lieu of notice even though I was a casual employee, I have to wait until January 2021 to qualify for new start allowance! Every time a potential employer sees Triple Bypass and a shoulder injury the resume probably goes in the bin.....
We paid out the Cruze we bought new in 2016 along with a few other things and ordered a few things on Ebay for the Van front suspension.
Anyway nothing has been done on the Van for quite a while now. I still need a full wiring harness, Rubber floor mat, Rebuild the VH312 Booster and find a big but master cylinder and rebuild it. Any recommendations of someone doing the wiring harness? I recently picked up another booster needing a rebuild, pedal box and clutch linkages along with a usable/restorable dash pad. The bloke thinks he has a manual column and linkages and when I am passing in my ute and he is home he will go through his spares and marry up some gear linkages. I picked up a smooth case manual box and spare driveshaft a while back but he didn't have any other parts.
The HG Ute is still going well and gets a run every now and then.
I have a Holden Apollo I picked up from my neighbour's estate for $300 after she passed away in 2013. I put in a spare battery. got a safety certificate, new rego and have only replaced 2 tyres so far. It's done 70,000k's since so I bought another car to replace it. I've had my moneys worth out of it so I will give it away soon to a retired mate from my last job. The car I bought is a 2/99 Barina which had 18,800 k's on it when I road tested it. I was told when I hit the motorway that it was the first time it had seen a motorway ever and probably the first time it had done 100kmh! It is like new and only has a couple of minor scrapes as the lady owner was 87. She had to get a new battery for it so she could get a safety certificate when it wouldn't start. It needed a new muffler for the SC. It is booked in for a new timing belt and water pump tomorrow as I doubt it would have been done. Survivor Car?
Anyway, that's enough of my problems. Keep on Holden on. I'm still Holden together.....
Cheers
Ron.

I have to buy a rubber kit for the Van. There are a few outlets supplying kits and they vary in price from $819 upwards. Can anyone suggest which one is the best? The one below is $819?
Thanks.
