AFAIK all WB Statesman shifters are like that.

That's how it's pictured in the parts catalog. Statesman only though, not WB commercial, they are the same as HQ-HZ with a rod.

I just looked into this further.

The Trimatic retains the rod shifter but still has the extra metalwork on top.

The TH350 has the cable as pictured.

The extra metalwork is to support & mount the console top section, which is unique to the WB Statesmans.

I’d seen the WB Trimatic console T-bar before but not a cable version. I guess I assumed that WB Statesman would have used the HX-HZ style cable T-bar if a cable type.

By the way it is made it looks like an M38 WB Statesman has a standard 4spd/Trimatic shifter hole in the floor plus a hole for the cable? I’ve probably only ever seen them in wrecking yards and seen the standard hole and assumed they went back to a standard rod type shifter.

Yeah, I'm not sure of the actual production numbers, but I'd guess that there were more Trimatic WB Statemans built than TH350.
