HI, I’m wondering if anyone here collects Holden broadcast sheets and has an HT Belmont one in their collection.

I need confirmation on the number used for an HT Belmont grille (80169, 80269, 80135, 80235, 80170, 80270, 80180, 80280) shown in box 131 on the sheet. I believe Belmont had the same grille to Kingswood/Monaro but there are some that disagree and this is the only way I can prove it.

I have these so far for HT:

906 - Kingswood
907 - GTS
993 - Premier
972 - Brougham

Thanks

According to the HT parts catalogue, there are 4 different HT grille assemblies.

7449906 - Belmont, Kingswood, Monaro
7449907 - Monaro GTS
2807993 - Premier
7439972 - Brougham

You'll note that the last 3 digits of each part number are the same as you've listed from the broadcast sheets.

Based on that, my guess is that they are the only 4 types of grilles in the HT series & that Belmont, Kingswood (& Monaro) share the same grille.

Interesting question. I'm not familiar with the HT grilles but HK lists 7433531 as the grille for Belmont, Kingswood and Monaro. Although the grille is the same metal frame the paintwork for each is different. The Belmont is all alloy, The Kingswood has 4 of the 8 bars painted black and the Monaro is 8 bars black. Is there different paint types to match the models on the HT?

Not quite, the grille for HK Kingwood & Monaro was originally 7439134. This had the correct grille bars blacked out for those models. BTW Monaro had the same grille as Kingwood, it was the Monaro GTS which all 8 grille bars blacked out.

It was later superseded to the Belmont grille (7533531) when stocks ran out. As you say the Kingwood/Monaro grille is the same as Belmonts plus the black paint.

AFAIK the HT Belmont had the same grille as HT Kingwood from the factory.

Looks like from the Part number that the HT Premier grill does not reflect the total grill number like, or it would have to start with 74**** ? seeing that the Brougham gets the full grill she gets the 74***** PN and all like, but the Premier only gets a start with 28**** like. I would think maybe why.

I'm not sure on the exact timing of the part number system, but the 74xxxx & 28xxx are both full part numbers.

It appears that most early Holden part numbers begin with 74 & then around 1969 they started with 28. During the early-mid 70s this changed again to 99.

I don't know why the Premier would have had a later type part number than the Brougham. As a matter of fact it seems that the HT Brougham had earlier part numbers than the Belmont/ Kingswood types as well.

Terry,

28 part numbers are introduced just before Monaro release, there are a very small number of parts that have 28 part numbers on them for both Monaro and Brougham, last minute changes I would say.
