What to do ? The auto-choke RH manifold leaks. Do they all leak ? Ie that fluffy leaky sound through the heater tube hole. It isnt bad, just annoying.

Is it standard practice to put a std exh manifold on, and dump the auto choke manifold. OR do most original auto choke manifolds have a gasket seal to seal the hole. Or maybe exhaust gasket goo.

Any ideas ? Ta John

ALL Holden V8 manifolds (except L34) have auto chokes. However HX-VL run an exhaust crossover which is used for EGR, manifold warming and choke heat. You need to change your heads as well as the manifold if you want to use a HT-HQ manifold on a later bloc

Thks Byron,
Sorry forgot to add its a HQ 253 red motor, with Auto choke and a hole near number 7 that makes a bloody horrible fluffy sound.

Hi Guys.

Use a RH exhaust manifold of an HX or later, the choke tube & holes are not there on the later manifold.

Trublu

Misread your post. I thought you were talking about inlet manifolds. Dr Terry is right.
