I am thinking of putting a 202 and trimatic out of a vk commodore will tail shaft fit

I presume you are fitting this setup to a HJ ,length wise yes, check the yoke size to the gearbox.

Any HJ 3spd, 4spd, trimatic or TH350 tailshaft that is fitted to your car now will also fit the Commodore trimatic. The odd one out is the TH400 tailshaft. You will also need need a TH400 rod (not cable) shifter out of a HJ to HZ as the Commodore trimatic
