Hi well I posted to this forum not long ago and since then had no more problems with the car till last night, I was driving down the M5 in sydney on my way home and the car did a splutter on the dash on came the orange engine light like it was going to stall then as quick as it all happened the car returned to normal running conditions...I think my car is possessed or I have gremlins living under my bonnett.
Also my fan has decided to run when it wants to not when I want it too it may work the second I turn it on or it may not start for half an hour its got a mind of its own grrrr. Any help would be appreaciated

check if any fault codes have been set. A full list of codes & how to test for them is on my mate's site:

I thought you could only check the codes when the engine warning light is on??

My car dies.. engine light comes on.. then it fires again and light goes off. Can the codes still be checked when there is seeminly nothing wrong??

cheers

Yes, they can still be stored, even if the light doesn't stay on. There are 2 sorts of faults. Intermittant and can't remember the technical term, but you get the picture. Once you've checked the codes, they can be erased from memory by (with the ignition
