i was talking to this mechanic the other day that owns a performance workshop and he was saying that adding things the flashlube and moreys to your cars fuel will only make it run crap nd that all you need to run is high octane fuel like bp ultimate. is any one else heard of this

It depends; does your car have hardened valve seats or not? Is your car injected or not? Some more details might help on this one pls.

Thats fine if you have an unleaded head, or want to be replacing them every 40,000k or so, but the fuel people themselves will tell you not to use it without an additive.

its a 5ltr blue motor with approx 45,000klms on it. it was bought as a reco back in 1995

I recommend that unless the engine has hardened seats, go to your nearest LPG conversion shop and buy a $75 upper cylinder lubricator kit. You'll need to drill and tap 2 x small holes in the valley cover below the quadrajet primaries, and the rest is a sn

I use the flashlube on my 308 V8 which has 10:1 compression and no seats. I add it directly to the fuel (a bit of a hassle, though no modifications needed to engine or checking of dispensor valve for the additive) in a ratio of 2ml additive per litre of f
