Hi,have gotten my hands on a electronic distributor from a vh 253 and i want to put it in my hx one tonner,is it just a staight swap with the original distributor or is there more to it than that,Also would a 350 holley from a ford 302 be ok to bolt on or will it need to be re jetted to suit a 253,thank for any advice.

I would get the 2bbl stromberg re kitted or re jetted, I find holleys drink more fuel , the dizzy is a good move and will keep your plugs cleaner too.

Make sure you get a 12V coil, and you need to run 12V to the coil, rather than the 9V supply that it will have now. That is bypass the resistor wire in the wiring harness that goes from your ignition switch to the coil. Leave the cranking wire in place as
