Howard Gets Another Win In Pro Stock Bike
It has been two events and two wins for South Australian Phil Howard in ANDRA Pro Stock Motorcycle. Howard managed a personal best run of 7.360 to win an ANDRA Gold Tree Trophy, riding a motorcycle that had been stolen and then found just weeks earlier.
Gilbertsons finals appearance has kept him at the top of the ANDRA Championship Points, although Howard is just 45 points in arrears.
Barbagallo Back To The Winner's Circle In Sydney
John Barbagallo has had an indifferent start to the ANDRA Season but his performances have improved over the season and he was rewarded with a win at the 2009 Nitro Champs. After qualifying, the Sydney crowd was treated to the quickest and tightest qualifying field in ANDRA Pro Stock Championship history, with just 0.059 spreading the 8-car field! On his way to victory, John Barbagallo set a new National record ET with a brilliant 7.042 effort.
Jason Hedges made his first Pro Stock final with a superb effort, whilst Aaron Tremayne still tops the points.

The final round of the 2008/2009 ANDRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Championship & Pro Stock Championship will be held at Queenslands Willowbank Raceway at the Castrol EDGE Winternationals 4th to 7th June, 2009.
Team Bray On Form At Karcher Nitro Champs

Fresh from the Tin Tops and testing at Willowbank Raceway, Team Bray has again proven a powerful force in Australian Top Doorslammer ranks with young Ben blasting to the runner-up position in the seventh round of the 2008/09 season at the Karcher Nitro Champs held at Western Sydney International Dragway (WSID).

A pinched nerve in Victor''s left foot, (a problem that affected his ability to control the heavy Top Doorslammer clutch) side lined the six times National Champion. Team Bray Racing had plenty to cheer about after the final qualifying session, with Ben in 3rd with 5.951 at 241.67 and Mat Abel ended up with more than he had hoped for, as he was in the field for Sunday with a new personal best 6.151 at 232.11.(in car footage of that pass.....here)
In the first round of eliminations Ben defeated Sean Mifsud to set up a duel against Robin Judd who eliminated Matt in round one. The Karcher 1957 Chevy suffered gearbox problems while leading by two car lengths at half track.
Ben restored family pride with a strong 6.189sec at 236.96mph (379.13kmh) pass to progress to the final, while Judd had his own troubles, his car shaking the tyres very hard by the 60 foot mark.
Team Bray had not been able to find the drive-line gremlin plaguing the Castrol EDGE Monaro prior to the final and Ben knew Zappia, who had been running consistent ''5.8s'' would be hard to beat. That would be the case, Ben''s 6.042sec at 240.12mph (384.19kmh) just not quick enough to beat the West Australian.

Victor Bray 1957 Chevy "I could not be happier with how strong the Top Doorslammer bracket is and to able to get two out of three cars into the 8 car field that is great.
After qualifying was completed there was only just over a second from the No.1 qualifier to the 14th.
The only down side was that due to the problem with my foot one of the eight cars in the field was not mine. And the worst (not really) thing now that Matt is in equal 7th place with me in the Championship, I am going to have two young bucks going on at the workshop.
You know workshop bragging rights in Team Bray are a big thing".
Ben Bray Monaro CV8Z "The car ran well occasionally, but it was hard to make it consistent when you are trying to go faster.
I would like to congratulate Zap on winning the event, but I am starting to get a bit worried as he is getting closer to my 24 round straight winning record, this weekend takes Zap to 15. Anyway I will go back home now and get ready for the Castrol EDGE Winternationals."

Mathew Abel 1957 Chevy "Qualifying was tough, with 19 cars. That was the quickest Top Doorslammer field I have ever been in and I was glad to be in it.
I would have to say the highlight of my weekend was coming down the return road after final qualifying session and I think everybody in the KARCHER box was hanging out the window cheering. All I could see was yellow KARCHER shirts".
