The following is a tongue in check press release HOLDEN TO RELEASE V8 POWERED EH COMMERCIAL In announcing the prototype V8 EH commercial, Mr H, Managing Director of General Motors Holden, said that despite the success of the 149 and 179 engines, there was a need for Australia to develop a V8 engine. This task was given to Head Engineer, John Donis. The new 253 engine which is 71% more powerful than the famous 179 engine it replaces, will power all commercial models. Mr H said that the Premier Sedan and Premier Station Sedan will remain with 179 motors. As the engine is standard in the Premiers, he stated that this means that the EH Premier Sedan list price is in fact 20 lower than the superseded EJ Model. The V8 Commercial will only be available with the new Trimatic auto, a 9 differential, a 28 spline axel at an extra cost of 100 plus sales tax. Mr Headland stated that over the last 13 years, GM-H had continually improved the Holden and today hopes to offer the new V8 Commercial at a list price of 1253 Carpe Diem |

Thanks for the comments Rhys, it has been a long road to get it to this point and I still have a few more things to do to it. Kieth AKA Vintage Holden can vouch for the condition it was in 5 years ago!
FYI it is in the current issue of Nitro magazine and December issue of Perth Street Car

A belated thanks to all for the comments in the earlier posts. Rhys, yes i have seen that EJ sedan in a few adds in magazines. He has certainly done a good job and should have put it into the hot rod show. I dare say it will be entered in Motorvation. I believe that there will be a few nice cars in this issue of PSC, which is a product of the boom town car building. I have added a couple of piccies from the photo shoot Adam, ill add you to the ever growing list of potential buyers. I dare say that ill scare a few off with my asking price when the time comes Carpe Diem |

From new it was Gundagai Grey. I added some Barwon Blue to the mix, so in the daylight it is Grey and in the shade/night it is blue

Kieth, I think your comment is a bit harsh re previous owner. Cheers though for encouragement, that also extended to a good feature in latest PSC, plus a bonus of having the GTS in there as well Carpe Diem Edited by user Monday, 4 January 2010 8:17:13 PM(UTC)
