Just fitting the wiring to the towbar on the VR wagon, reading the manual it appears there is a connector in the rear harness somewhere already all plumbed in.
Can anyone tell me where it is?

In sedans it's a case of unplugging the RH tail light, and putting a T-harness in place. All your required basic wires are in that connector (RH blinker, Stop, Tail, Reverse) and they also route the LH blinker wire into an empty hole in that RH tail light plug to complete the set you need.
I'm not 100% sure on the wagons, but I think it's the same deal. |

thanks Mick the wagon lights are on separate leads but maybe there is a connection kit for it.
will check out my friendly Holden dealer.

John - the sedans are also on seperate leads, but the main harness only runs up the RH side of the car - so your LH light has it's wiring pass right past the RH tail light.
Unfortunately VR is past the point where Holden care about accessories. It's a struggle to even get some VY/VZ items. |

How things have changed. Holden made its reputation by having parts available cheaply and readily.
Not that you would expect a full selection of parts for 30 year old cars, but 15?

You had trouble getting bits for wb utes in 1994. Thats 10 years old.

couldn't be bothered waiting to get to dealers so did a cut and solder job.
The wirning all runs down the right hand side and there are connectors you can unclip presumably to add bits.
Yes my 89 Astra (pulsar) parts became unavailable as soon as it hit 10 years.
I think they are required by law to supply parts for 10 years after that it depends on their mood.
When you think about it a 30 year old Holden would be a VB Commodore - hardly what we think of as vintage.
