My powerglide will not hold Park properly the selector out of the box is fully engaged . From the research i have done it has come down to the locking Pawl. As park tries to engage yet gives loud clunks as it rolls back down my driveway onto the road. Can i access the pawl from the pan somehow or does the box need to come out. Any guidance would be fantastic.
Thanks
Angelo

Was thanked: 2 time(s) in 2 post(s)
valve body needs to be removed.
The pawl is located on the case internally and engages the planetary gear carrier around the output shaft......
so sorry it has to come out.
The carrier could be stripped or worn too
