Hi well I recently lowered an HK ute via having the leaves reset and the minimum here in SA for the rear is 54mm from the top of the bump stop to the body and 38mm at the front. At those heights the car sits just right , not too high not too low,so don't go any lower, and that is using the factory bump stops not something aftermarket or shaved down. You might consider using 2inch dropped stubs on the front which will then give you full suspension travel and normal factory alignment settings and you dont have to use shortened front shocks. The trade off is that dropped stubs cost more than aftermarket coils.A good idea would be to reset some other ht/g leaves in the rear and put your originals on the shelf, 2nd leaves are cheap to buy, just make sure they are ht/g as they have different spring eye bushes to hk.

A complete breakdown of the the different springs, they're factory specifications and the different standard ride heights are all in th HT Supplement Manual. The one with the maroon and yellow cover.

Well I just measured it again and although it was at 55mm a couple of months ago with an empty tank at the moment with 3/4 tank of fuel it sits around 45mm which is probably lower than you may wish to go, but it does look good and rides nicely. You will probably end up doing the same as me, where I had the leaves reset , fitted them but they were'nt quite right , the springworks in Gawler who are very good reset them again at no charge to get the result I was after. The reset which included painting and new leaf shims was about $130 from memory, and is a far better factory looking result.
