Folks,

Putting front end back on (as per last topic) and have encountered a wee gotcha. Previously, guards were imperfectly / incorrectly mounted (I suspect to get around door alignment).

The drivers door is too far forward, with the guard in place (front edge of door snags on rear edge of guard). The back edge of the door is about 10mm from front edge of rear door.

I want to move the front door rearwards about 5mm. How does one achieve this. I can see how you can move it up and down, in and out, and adjust the striker, but not how to actually shift it back.

Hi mate

Where the door hinges bolt onto the car body and in the door themselves, is moveable plates. Loosen all six bolts on one side only (car side or door side) and give the door a push in the direction you wish it to move.

Only loosen the bolts enough to get a small amount of movement with each push as the doors are one the hardest things to align correctly (don't ask me how I know this).

Cheers

Roy

Indeed. Two blokes and an hour later, all the gaps are good. Now just need to re-prepare the door edges where screwdrivers were used to create gaps, and be ready to go again.
