FYI I think this is the same as an original GTS327 and a 307 manual tailshaft, dark green. Will edit if my memory has failed me!

Correct as expected Byron.

The dimensions below for length are the uni centre to centre distances, and are different from your 1362mm.

For HK, The service manual and parts manual call for Dark Green, 1364.2 - 1365.8mm/53.71-53.77" length, 69.85mm/2.75" diameter, 1.65mm /.065" wall thickness. Part number is 7439318

For HT, The service manual defines the tailshaft for 307 and 308 Auto Salisbury as Light Bronze Green, 1382.3 - 1383.8/ 54.42 - 54.48", 69.85mm/2.75" diameter, 1.65mm /.065" wall thickness. Part number is 2806833

The HT parts manual, however, still lists the dark green shaft for 307 Auto/Salisbury, and the light bronze green shaft for the 308 Auto only.

I'm almost certain that HT service manual is incorrect. For HQ the Chev engine is moved forward so its rear sits level with where a 253/308 sits (Chev is about 3/4" longer). For HT-HG they don't and the Chev rear is further back than the 253/308 thus the gearbox moves back as well hence the shorter tailshaft for the Chev engine.

I have 3 of them but I also have 2 x GTS327's and 2 x 307 GTS's so only just have enough (one GTS has a pink tailshaft as it is a banjo).

Do you have a pic of the pink tailshaft HK1837? That's what mine should have and need to know which shade of pink it is. Thanks.

It is in the car 300kM away. I will be able to though next time i'm near it. It is the same tailshaft as a HT-HG 253 M21, this one came from a HG V8 Kingswood sedan with optional M21 that I rescued from demolition derby duty.
