If the Viva is anything like the Holden Vectra, having to put your foot on the brake to engage gears is normal. It's a safety thing

You have several problems here. The cause of the gear lever not coming out of park unless you press the brake pedal 'hard' is not connected to the stalling issue or the check engine light coming on.

My guess is that the brake light switch is either faulty or out of adjustment. The gear lever won't come out of park unless your foot is on the brake, but it shouldn't need to be that 'hard' it just needs to switch the brake lights on. The lever solenoid is switched at the same time. You say that the "inoid" was replaced, do you mean SOLENOID ?

The only regular fault that I see with Vivas is the MAP sensor. Get someone to scan the car's ECU & see what fault codes are logged currently. The MAP sensor code is usually evident. Even if no codes are logged, replace the MAP anyway, they are cheap enough & the only common/regular problem.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
