What is the best workshop manual to get for a HR ute have seen available Scientific? And Gregory's ?

In my opinion, neither.
I don't think you can go past the Factory shop manual, as it contains more complete information, details on special tools, specifications etc.

The Scientific and Gregorys manuals usually have better photos, and some short cuts, and might have enough information for you, but the factory manuals are more complete.

There's one on eBay now, which is a bit knocked around. Ideal for a manual you want to actually use.
They come up regularly, mostly for less than what you would pay for a new non genuine manual.

I find you need both. Gregorys usually have better wiring diagram and a couple extra hints, genuine are much more detailed.
as a hint, I always photocopy the relevant pages and work from there, that way you keep the manual clean.
