I have an old black and white slide from the 70's and want to take a pic from it. How can I do that? I need to send the pic via email.
Thanks.

You can buy one of these and scan them into your PC: https://www.jaycar.com.a...de-film-scanner/p/XC4881

You do need moderate PC skills though.

Or you can find a local photo place who does them, like this: https://fotofast.com.au/.../negative-slide-scanning
Cheers,

Mick

I had the same problem, so I tried firstly to do it by myself. But looks like technology is not my thing :D so I just tapped in picture framing Sydney and chose the first and they did everything! Sometimes it is better to delegate the ”tasks”, but it is also nice to learn new things. Did you solve the problem?

Hi James. I had a slide of the remains of a 57 customline I owned back in the 70's. We cut it up chopping the roof off and it was a convertible for a few weeks until the rego ran out. Then we took the body off the chassis and mounted the seat across the rails, made up brackets to hold the brake and accelerator pedals along with the steering column. The radiator was hadhazardly mounted up front and the fuel tank at the rear. The rear springs were gas axed off just behind the u bolts and hillman imp coil overs were installed. It would bottom out when we jumped over hills on the motocross / BMX track so we shortened the chassis a lot. The driveshaft was about a foot long so it ended up with the track about the same as the wheelbase!
We used to drive it in a paddock off Chisholm Road at Auburn in Sydney's west but stored it in Killeen Street. One day Rob was driving it down to the paddock with Burt in the passengers seat. I was following in my 327 monaro when a copper came round the corner in a paddy wagon. He watched that cusso with evil eyes as it drove past. Rob crapped himself and asked Burt: "Whada I do now"? Burt said: "Act natural and he won't notice"! The copper nearly ran into me before he swerved back to his side of the road. Rob sat bolt upright and did hand signals at Chisholm Road. The copper kept going shaking his head and probably thinking too much paperwork at this time of the day. We parked at Melissa Crescent and Rob jumped out still shaking. Burt patted him on the back and said: "See, I told you if you act natural he wouldn't notice"!
Technology is not my thing either. And the slide is back in a box somewhere in my spare room.
I also have a pic of Bill Brown's Falcon just after it came to rest at Mount Panorama after his big rolllover. I was standing about 40 feet away from the fence when he began to roll. Everyone ran away from the fence line and I walked up to the fence and took the pic with Bill still inside. Unfortunately you can't see Bill. I took it before any marshalls or ambo's etc arrived and got him out. And the race went on. No safety cars in those days! It is a black and white pic and I don't have the negative unfortunately. I tried taking pics of the pic and it isn't good. I enlarged it back in the mid seventies and stuck it in an old now delapidated photo album full of Hot Rods.
Cheers,
Ron

I think it is easier to find a local photo place that can do this for you.
