I changed all the oils out in the wife's Mitsubishi Challenger (2003) on the weekend. Gearbox and transfer case are specified as API GL4 75-90, I went and bought and installed GL5 75-90 before I realised I'd got the wrong stuff.

I don't know my grades of Oil well enough to know whether it matters, but figure someone on here can enlighten me please.

From what I read. GL5 won’t do it any favours. I’d recommend draining it and putting the GL4 in if that’s what was recommended.
