Hi all,

What's the best way to clean an old carby that I'm rebuilding for my V8 Holden? The carb is dirty and also has lots of old hardened varnish deposits (from old fuel) right through it. I have called up lots of auto shops but they all have nothing stronger then spray can carby cleaners which are expensive and do not seem to dissolve the varnish very well. I would appreciate any suggestions about a suitable product or even a homemade "recipe" for an effective carby cleaner to soak the whole thing in. Cheers,

Paul

Strip it and soak it over night in (spray) gun wash then scrub it with a tooth brush.
