does anyone know the weight of a 308, and a turbo 400 tranny?

Second time lucky hey Ed. This would be a hard one as no one would weight the motor and tranny when out of the car!! Only way would be to have a rolling shell weighed and then the complete V8 engined car, the difference is the motor and tranny I guess (

Oh my 308/T400 HZ Premier is classed as 1450kgs by Vicroads, not sure how accurate their numbers are however!

thanks pete, i was just curious because i am taking them out of my coupe and i have to get the right lifting equip. (trying to teach my son the right way to do things)!!!

As long as you have a 1/tonne or better hoist you should have no problems. My Elephant brand 1/2 tonne picked up a whole Landrover when the gearbox caught on the firewall and I dodn't realise till it started to swing!
