I think I'll make this a regular topic! =-)

Check this out on Ebay!

ford xa super bird glove box Item number: 110077240708

Yes mate, very rare....trouble is, it's exactly the same as a normal glove box and you can buy those decals at any repro parts place for about $15.

Hmm...I have a spare glove box lid, might buy a sticker, whack it on, leave it outside in the rain and heat for a few weeks and wala $800!

lol

Yeah look at his bad feedback "for a 29 year old bar its mint". My (& probably everyone elses) idea of "mint" would mean as good as new no matter how old it is.

Mint meaning as it left the mint or factory.

Check this car out on Ebad,

Ford Falcon XB Sunroof NO RESERVE!!!
Ford Falcon XB sunroof Item number: 230080159941

Now this guy is not so much a clown but a typical Ebay con artist, any interested bidders should know that I have seen this car listed at least 5 times so far and every time it has apparently sold. Obviously this bloke is bidding on his own stuff and keeps winning his own auction in his attempts to pump up the sale price.

Note, there is no reserve, it will sell! Just like it did the other 5 times!!

Just be warned guys, if you bid on this youll definately be in competiton with the seller himself.

Is that because GTs had the squarer cut out and not the round ones?

What else gives it away as being non genuine.

Just curious as I had to resort to buying a fibreglass repro for my XB coupe but would love a steel one. (square cut outs though).

Yeah mate, GTs had square cut outs. The one in the pic is a factory twin system rear stone tray. Available on all V8 non GTs with a factory twin system. If you are handy with a set of tin snips its actually not that hard to convert the standard single system rear stone tray into a GT copy. You just have to be good at cutting, bending and measuring though I met a panel beater once who could knock them out and there was no way to tell it wasnt a genuine GT rear stone tray.

Thats what I thought.

The fibreglass one I have looks OK (not on the car yet) but I dont like my chances of it fitting properly and it would be harder to reshape than metal if I need to adjust it.

Ive got a couple of V8 coupes but I think they both have the dual round cut outs. Maybe I can try my hand at modifying them.

The fibreglass ones actually dont fit too bad. Hard to tell they
are glass unless you tap them. Id be trying to get a couple of
old single system rear stone trays and cutting them up rather than
the factory twin system. The twin round cut out is still collectable and is a lot rarer than the single system cut outs. Grab a rear stone tray off a sedan or fairlane if you can find one laying around and try chopping that up. Alternatively to cutting and snipping if are pretty handy with a welder, look at the XD to XF rear stone trays. The cut out is the same shape as the GTs.

The single system cut out actually extends deeper into the panel than the GT square cutouts, so if all you did was cut a square GT type cutout into a standard panel it would not be exactly correct and could be picked up if you knew what you were looking at.

If you wanted it perfect you will have to weld a small piece of steel at the top of the original cutout to fill the gap.

Of course, you wouldnt have to do anything with the passenger side as its a blank canvas.

Well here is a good clown. He states that he ends auctions early so get in and bid but looking through his
previous auctions & feedback there is no evidence of an auction finishing early & selling to the high bidder
at all.

This Torana sold by him a couple of weeks ago for nearly $4000 is now sitting at $3000 with 6 hours to go.
He has not left the previous "purchaser" bad feedback as yet either. I bet it re appears in a week or two.
