You may have to change the driven gear though. Decide what type of driving you wish to do though, as with say a 3.08 diff with an M21 you will suddenly find yourself cursing the day you removed the auto when towing, reversing up hill

My other holden (recently acquired) is a HQ ute with 202/3spd, and a 3.55 diff I suspect. (Original Belmont gear - correct me if I'm wrong!) So it's difficult to do direct comparisi

As Dave says a diff change is the better fix. I think Greg at Classic Oz Wreck has a 2.6:1 commercial diff at the moment.
