Hey guys, im pretty pi$$ed off right now! I just returned from getting meat for tea and got pulled over for 'Undue noise by manner of operation'.

I was taking off from the traffic lights at a corner and the police were behind me. I knew this. Then my car choked up a bit, so i gave it a bit more throttle (no more than 2000rpm) then took off. In first gear i hit about 3000rpm before changing to second and continuing to 60km/h. They pulled me up and claimed i 'screeched my tyres' and was making 'excessive noise'...

This is BULL$HIT. $240 fine.

Anyone had this before? QLD Cops are ***** <---- word starts with C.

Mate they are the same anywhere in the world,
Bringing back memories for me after I bolted on the blower to the HK Monaro I once owned. I had an escort every day to work from a cop parked outside my home for a month.

Hi Keith,

It is unfortunate that you got stung for a $240 fine, by what appears to be an over zealous Police Officer trying to get his nightly quota.

All Police Officers have a very responsible job to perform in keeping the roads safe for everyone.

Here's another take, Keith...

For every one of you, who gets done when innocently driving their beloved old holden carefully and lovingly, there will be dozens (hopefully, anyway!) of idiots out there who are driving dangerously and are caught... and t

"Police are Clams"?? That's a pretty weird statement to make!?

Oh well, either way mate I'm sorry that you paid $250 odd for a piece of steak and to be smacked on the wrist for your hooning!

I guess you should be thankful that after telling the cop

i'm not targeting any single person/comment in this thread, just generalising. BUT it's all well and good to empathise/joke with Keith, until you think of the real issue which has upset him - the blatant hypocrasy of coppers picking on road users...until

Agreed with above! And police are Clams!! Its funny really! I have not been pulled over in ages at all (even for a breath test), so the time i give the car some revs to get away they try and pin me for excessive noise! Of all places, this was not resi

For the most part, the cops do a great job, but unfortunately they seem to become excessively rife with prejudice, as soon as they put on a uniform, I experience the raw end of it all the time because I also ride a Harley, and I can guarantee just about

Here's an idea. How about we have a State by State 'no fine month'. What I mean is no-one speeds, runs red lights or does anything that involves paying the respective State Govt. any cash. Wait and see how much screaming comes from above each time the rev

My brother got done for a defective vehicle, when he was driving our Grandfather's van that had a water pump failing. We hadn't noticed it, but it was dripping coolant when he got pulled over for a routine check. Naturally we took it straight to the mec

Speeding in QLD is only applicable if you are caught with a radar gun. I made the mistake of pullling out in front of a car in a 60km/h zone. He left skid marks for 35m and crossed to the wrong side of the raod and wrote both cars off. I estimated he was

I would rather be pulled over by a copper anyday (whether there is a quota system of not). Because at least I know I got busted honestly !

Unlike those money raising cameras which I loathe as they DO NOTHING except raise money.

Only cops in cars sav

Mate of mine had a stock '88 Pintara wagon.

Copper tried to tell him it was illegal to have a V8 in there & only 2L capacity on the rego papers.

After a heated discussion it was established the copper learnt how to tell what a motor was by counting
