I went to get a road worthy done last Friday on my VR Executive that I just bought the other week and one of the annoying little problems the mechanic found was that the Airbag light that comes on for about 20sec (just like the ABS light on dash) when ya start the car is not working - he said to check the globe... did that and the globe is fine!

So my question is, what could this be that is causing the airbag light to not activate, and any idea how the hell to rectify this??? My RWC is counting on the damn thing working!

Cheers, Nathan

ABS module...just had similar dramas in my VT..$780 to replace...$100 for Holden to diagnose..and you really have to get them to do that...$780 is a bit much for part swap diagnosis.

Wow nearly a grand ! ABS sure is nice, and sadly airbags have mixed reviews. The prices should be cheaper for Aussie spares. You can buy an a complete VR for around $3000.

Just be thankful, the part wasnt important and didnt die in the ass on a long w

Sounds like module is faulty, but it is not out of the question that somebody may have cut the wire to stop light coming on all the time??????????

if it ain't broke we can improve it.

It could be something very simple. When I bought my VR the air bag light never came on. I later found the previous ownwer had removed the fuse.

G'day pepole, thanks for the replies. I actually fixed it just last week but hadn't been on here since, and it was actually just as "Fuzzypumper" had just mentioned about the fuse, I had a look in the fuse panel and where the air bag fuse lives there was

Air bags as far as I know are not an AR design rule. So the car is still road worthy!

maybe, but the catch is that if you have any little extra features like and Air Bar, a Tow Bar - light socket, other things like this... than they have to be working up to scratch to achieve a RW or they can just be removed if defective and than all is go
