I am wonderin whether anyone can tell me a bit about steering racks?
mine is leaking oil out of rubber boot,,, does this mean i need rubber boot?? or is their something more sinister afoot ??

It is really hard to say without seeing. A mechanic will be able to help, but I recommend getting more than one opinion. |

I would be inclined to fit a new boot there is a chance there is a groove or scoring on the shaft, check that while you have the boot off, move the steering wheel both ways as far as it will go and clean the shaft and inspect it closely Even a small mark
