Hi all,

Looking to buy a doner body for a good 253 and 3 speed manual I have. The doner HZ body I'm looking at was originally a 308 4 speed, what diff ratio would these have normally run, 3.08? If so what would this be like with the 253 manual? Would prefer a 4 speed too as it has the hole in the floor already, why not use it!! Any one out there got a suitable 4 speed in good nick with shifter (would need to be in southern NSW or North East Vic or Melbourne.

Thanks Peter

Never late with a 308!!

Thanks Byron, much appreciated. I'll have to keep an eye out for a suitable box. So the 6cyl M22 and the V8 ones had the same internals hey, just a thicker input shaft on the V8, well there you go!

All aussie 4-speeds are the same regardless of whether they are 6cyl or V8. The only thing that is different is the input shaft length (not thickness) and the corresponding length of the bearing cover. The boxes are all physically identical also. The only
