hi all me again . I have a 78 hz prem wagon running a 308 on duel gas & petrol and have just had to replace the water pump and fuel pump. what i thought was the original motor turns out to be from a commodore, can anyone tell me if there is anyway of telling what year the motor is and is it true that hz's came with blue and not red motors apparently if what my mechanic says is true power steering brackets for original blue motors are like rocking horse (u know what) is this true or do i find a new mechanic.

HZ only ran the red motor. The WB ran the blue.

On the front of the block, above the water pump, on the passenger side, just below the manifold, will be some numbers.

Post those numbers/letters here & the guys on here will decode them.

Also, the
Cheers,

Mick

A lot of the parts are interchangeable because the basic motor design is the same, heads block etc some changes were sump, water pump, power steer bracket etc.

if it ain't broke we can improve it.
