Hi, can someone please tell me where I can vew the timing for a 138. I have connected the timing light to the spark lead on cylinder 1 but can not see a thing down the front of the motor.
Cheers

Hi Caine.
The timing mark on Grey motors is on the flywheel.
It can be view thru a little hole with a flap that swings to one side, just behind the distributor.
Try to get hold of a factory workshop manual, it shows a good pic.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

The timing mark on the flywheel is a ball bearing pressed into it.
if it ain't broke we can improve it.

Yep that's where it is (as already mentioned), usually behind a nice film of dirt and oil too!! I still have a scar on my wrist from timing my old EK, somehow the spark jumped to my watch from a dicky lead and zapp (ouch)! Ahh the memories......
