Searching for a couple of speakers, or just the grilles, for the BOSE 1401 system.
Happy to buy any or all parts of a system.
BOSE 1401 system comprises 4 speakers, and a processor/amp unit.
The speakers themselves are only around 4" diameter (100mm).
The 1401 mark 1 system came out in 1980, here's a pic:
Have a close look at the speaker grilles, and you can see the wide strips that make up the 3 pointed star across the grille.
The version I need is the updated "mark 2" which was introduced in the mid '80s.
The mark 2 had a thinner version of the "spokes" across the grille, as seen in these 2 crappy pics:
Now what I need, is just a pair of (preferably Mk2 style) grilles - either front or rear doesn't matter.
If it becomes a situation where I have the luxury of making a choice (yeah right!) then the raised ones in the pics (rears) are preferred.
You may have seen a pair in a wreck somewhere, or you may have some stashed away - I know it's worth a try!
I don't care if it's Mk1 or Mk2 style, I'll just be very grateful that a couple of grilles exist!
So if anyone spots any, let me know - be it a couple of grilles or a whole system I'm happy to buy the lot.
