HELP.. I HAVE COME ACROSS A 351 ENGINE BLOCK ,THAT I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT IT IS OUT OF .ITS A D BLOCK DOAE-J WITH 0C19 NUMBERS ON THE BOTTOM AND 0C31-G STAMPED ON THE FRONT . I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT 0C19 MEANS 0=1970 C=MARCH 19=19TH THE DAY THAT THE BLOCK WAS MADE AND 0C31 IS 31ST MARCH 1970 THE DAY THE ENGINE WAS PUT TOGETHER. THE BIT I DONT KNOW ABOUT IS THE ENGINE NUMBER .ITS ON THE LEFT SIDE ,LOOKING AT THE BLOCK FROM THE FRONT.THE NUMBER IS S1375C OR HS1375C. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS IS A BATHURST BLOCK BECAUSE ITS A S BLOCK ,BUT THERE SEEMS TO BE A BIT OF A OUT LINE OF A H IN FRONT OF THE S BUT IT IS VERY HARD TO MAKE OUT ANY IFO WOULD BE HELPFULL

The engine number is on the right hand side looking from the front of the car.
It should be on a little flat near the front of the passenger side cylinder head.
If it's an aussie built car it will start with JG
A Bathurst block is a load of ****.

THANKS FOR THE REPLY MUNROMAD2004 ,THE ENGINE NUMBER IS ON LEFT HAND SIDE OF BLOCK ,ALL 351C ENGINE NUMBERS BEFORE 1971 WERE ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE . FROM 1971 ON IT CHANGED TO RIGHT HAND SIDE ABOVE FUEL PUMP, SO I HAVE TOLD. IF THIS BLOCK IS A AUSSI BLOC

It could be a US block or a block that had no number so the road authorities gave it one. Hence the weird no? XB Fairmont sedan : [email protected] |

THANKS XB351 , YOU COULD BE RIGHT . JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF ANY BODY HAD CAME ACROSS THIS STRANGE ENGINE NO BEFORE ,OR HAD CAME ACROSS A GT BLOCK LIKE THIS .

Engine is out of XW V8 ,the engines in thes cars didn't have JG or JH prefixes on them,also bathurst engines had QC stamped on them.

i had a D block which had the engine number that stared with HS not realy sure what it came out of?

im so glad i found this site, i need help i have a mystery ford engine a 302 or 351 i can't tell the difference i have engine no.s if u know what it is would be a great help. JG37NM
