I currently looking at buying a 71 HQ GTS Coupe. The car has been garaged all its life, has no rust and nil accidents. Currently its at a stage where it needs to be rubbed back and resprayed. It has no motor. Originally it came with 308, 3 sp auto and lsd. The car is complete except for the roof lining and as mentioned motor.

I just need a close estimate of what i should be offering.

All the hard work has been done. It has 3 owners and the current owner bought the car 10 years ago, baremetalled it etc and now its ready for re-spray. The original colour is green (i think light) you can just make out the original colour in some areas. O

Well, it's a GTS going by that trim code.

Snap it up, they aint making any more.

Post all the info off all the plates here and someone will ID it all for you.

It's always good to know what the car was originally.

One thing in your favour is th

we have agreed on $2800. The only snag is he took the ID plates off the car 10 years ago during the rebuild stage and now can only find 1 (the large one with 80837, paint etc). Is it worth spending the money to fix this car? The car is complete and no rus

Still a good price for a complete coupe in good condition.

Keep on to him regarding digging up the rest of the plates.

the ID plate that i have viewed has the model number as 80837. It's definatelt off the car as the drill marks match that on the car, when he removed them. In other words if you place the ID plate back in it original position the remaining rivets match wha

If he wants the deal he`ll find the plates, ask for the plates to be there when you hand over the cash , also contact the reg dept and see what they say about it.
