Hey guys i'm in search of better economy in my 202 as i'm saving up to get a new motor rebuilt but the car is costing me too much to be able to save a decent amount of my wage. i am only a first year apprentice so my pay is low.

i currently have a 350 holley on the 202.

I recently read on a website www.oldholden.com about fuel economy for 202's, here is what i've found for carbys.

If you want a Holley Then the Holley 320 Economaster.

single stromie low torque and economy.

The XF Weber is not a bad idea it is two barrels but is a progressive carbie meaning one barrel opens first to about 70% before linkage starts to open the second barrel. Economy is better because of higher air flow in the primary gives better atomization of fuel. Note this higher air flow can produce a noticable whistling induction sound at idle.

i like the sound of the stromie as this guy says its good for low down torque, how true is this?
The xf weber sound pretty good anybody ever tried to use one on a holden motor? also which of these do you think will give better economy?

Unless you are doing a lot of Ks and getting bad economy the cost just to save fuel is hardly worth it. A 202 in good tune will give 19-21 mpg around town, the best you can hope for with a carby change is maybe 25. You do your pricing and comparison at th

if you're thinking about at straight gas look at www.gasresearch.com.au and replace your old carbie with one of their throttle body set ups, no more leaking carb and a smik looking setup?

Cheers
