Have a 2001 barina and ignition key jammed in lock. rac man freed it and said take it to locksmith. Locksmith could not get lock out and said take it to holden dealer. Holden dealer could not get lock out and said it needed a new steering column ---- $3000+. Also said steering wheel could lock while driving - any suggestions, anyone heard of this.

We can insert the key and start the car as usual. Seems to be clicking into all its positions just fine. when you remove the key it seems to "catch" a little but otherwise you would not know there was anything wrong with it. Nothing at all to stop me d

You could try a Holden (Salvage) Wreaking yard for advise for removing the Key barrel.
Not impressed with the poor response you have received from the Holden dealership!
As for the Wheel locking while the Key or the Barrel is in "ignition" position |
