I need 2 know what motors were they 253 or 308 or chev i would be greatful for any info on engines and numbers as i am thinking of a motor up grade and need 2 explore my options as its time start trying to restore it or sell it and selling it at the moment is not on the cards yet ?thats what i say my wife thinks diifferent (haha) I herd that only 81837 was only 350 ht monaros is this true? please help thanks

An 80837 has the 253 V8 4-speed as standard, but both the 307 (Chev)& the 308 were options so it could have been any of the 3 originally. Dr Terry.

Early GTS's were 253 4-speed or 307 powerglide. Later were 253 or 308, 4-speed or powerglide. Late in the model the powerglide was replaced by the trimatic on the GTS.
