G'day all, I have been told that VK injection will not work too well on a red motor without changing the cam, is this true? I have a blue head, and a VK injection manifold, that I would like to put on the tonner, but if I cant just bolt it on I am not interested( I know the block needs to be drilled , and the extractors changed, but that is minor compared to changing the cam!)Because its an everyday work car I cant have it off the road for too long, and if the cam I have wont work with the injection, then the project is dead already, as far as I'm concerned. Cheers.Russ.

The EFI cam is similar in it's properties to the XU1 cam, so if yours is something along those lines, it would be close enough.

Holden delayed the inlet closing on the VK EFI to take advantage of the 15kPa (max) inlet pressure boost seen as a result of the ram tubes. I have the profile at home. I don't understand your reluctance to change the cam though, as it is an easier job tha |

Yes what they said. The motor will still run fine but not have as much power the injection will be a bit wasted. Also don't underestimate the problems you might have with the injection wiring etc, I doubt it will be done in less than a week.

I have a 186 with VK injection on it, and there were no issues with the cam in the motor. (warm cam, not hot at all) The fitting of the injection physically was easy. The components of the sytem that were off a car over 20 years old left a lot to be desir |
