Can anyone help me? I've got a HK ute Chassis# hk54841m, Model( on larger tag)80380 54107m, and long thin tag # 80380kj16823.
What engine and trans should it have? I know it is a kingswood ute but any oyher information would be appreciated.

80380 is a kingswood ute standard driveline would be 161 3 spd manual.

Cloudy, I also initially made the same mistake as you, but remember in a HK there is no difference between a 6cyl and V8 on a HK's ID plates, bar the 1837 (GTS 327). By all evidence this particular ute is an original 307 4-speed (if it was a HT it would r

The only thing that you have mentioned that can't be original is the fuel tank if by 'monaro tank' you mean the big Bathurst tank. If it's simply the tank with the hump in it then that is normal for a 10 or 12 bolt HK-HG.

Thanks Byron, It doesn't have tramp rods, and the fuel tank is the std monaro tank not the bathurst tank. It has the monaro steering box. Can I find out its history anywhere with the vehicles vin. Holden don't go back beyond 1971. Thank you for all your h
