Need to change them in the ute. It's a HX 6 cylinder, but i'm unsure of the diff. The previous owner said he replaced it with a salisbury type. Are the differential housings the same?

Hi Spud.

The type of diff doesn't matter, all HQ-WB rear axles use the same wheel bearings. The only difference is when you have rear discs there is an issue with a seal & spacer but the bearing still remains the same.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
