Hi, chasing some information about paint removal off of a WB Statesman body mould. Unfortunately I was sent a body mould from a so called fantastic great you beaut wrecker that was suppose to be white and unsplit. When it was received and I was down $50.00 plus postage the mould was split in the usual spot (did manage to fix it) and I must agree the strip was white originaly but had since been painted green. It seems to me that the paint is enamal maybe two pac because it seems pretty tough as I have tried all purpose thinners, acetone and brake fluid on it but not for any great length of time in fear of damaging the grain and the makeup of the rubber. I do not wish to spray straight over the paint as it is already thick and the grain has started losing some of its definition. Would any one know something that may remove it. I do not want to have to go looking for another strip as it took long enough to get this one (Fr RHS Guard) and I am sick of looking and being stuffed around by cheats on e-Bay (bought a whole set that where suppose to be good 50% were stuffed and the others were ok) ****ers in the trading post (Drive for 1 1/2Hrs to find out the great condition set is incomplete and again not that good unless you like fitting squashed bent moulds to your car) and liars at wrecking yards who do not send what you have been told you have paid for. So after a lot of trying I have a full set only that this one is covered in paint. Please someone help me. NHJ

Definitley hard to get. I remember about 7 years ago the panel shop I was at having a LOT of trouble getting a RHF WB Statesman guard mould. It took about 6 weeks of searching between the boss and the assessor to come up with a $150 second hand mould good |

mix up a solution of 1/4 small tub of caustic soda in a bucket of water. Bend (flex) mould as degradation continues to expose weak points and change ends. If mold is too long get a 25 litre bucket. Soak in bathtub of warm water with laundry detergent on c

Don't use brake fluid. It is very likely to soak into the mould and ruin any chance of repainting it.
Cheers...Dave
