No, 350 Chev standard are around 175 - 290HP depending on induction.
But there is always room for improvement.

Well I'm not too familar with how far the Holden 308 can be bored out to, but I'd imagine out to 355 would be about the limit, and the Chev can go 60 thou, plus stroke the crank if need be. Also I'm biased - so I'll say the Chev at the finish line first.

COME in Victoria do 383 packages for the Holden 308/304
If the motor is going into a commodore, stick to the holden block, as it is a PITA with all sorts of spacers & crap to put a SBC into one, and its a huge compromise on the steering & handling of t |

As far as the bottom end is concerned they are about the same. Both can be had in 4-bolt form, forged crank or cast crank etc. Pistons are cheap as chips for both as the Holden 350 uses a Chev 377 piston (ie 400 crank in 4" bore block pistons). Holden rod |

Sydney Speed Supplies. Look in the Sydney white pages or search on the net. Look also on Ebay. Nodular 3.48" stroke cranks that take Holden rods are $500, ready to go. Simply use dish top Chev 377 pistons. |

CHEV. Superior oiling system, firingorder, and cheaper for aftermarket bits. Chevs will rev to 7000 STD.

Old holdens brought on the spot, quick decision, cash paid. |

I would rather a Chev any day over a Holden V8.
100 times more aftermarket parts.. Most much cheaper than Holden V8 parts.
300 million Americans can't be too far wrong. Walk around the pits at the drags and see Chevs outnumber Holdens big time.. E
